Abi & Nigel – Gibraltar Botanic Gardens

As well as organising their wedding, Abi and Nigel asked Marbella Wedding Angels to organise a pre wedding party at a family owned property in Marbella for their guests to become better acquainted before the big day. The terrace was decorated in fairy lights and candles by Gorgeous Event Decoration and for music the fabulous Matt McGurk provided flamenco guitar. Catering was carried out by DeliFreshGo in the form of a selection of typical Spanish hot and cold tapas to start followed by a choice of 3 paellas prepared in front of the guests and individual desserts of chocolate cake, and cheesecake or fresh fruit salad. Traditional sangria was also served.

Abi & Nigel wanted to have their guests at the legal ceremony and so as they are not resident, they had to have their wedding in Gibraltar. At first they were disappointed with this but once we showed them the Botanic Gardens, they were soon won over. The gardens provided ample shade for the guests and are a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony. Afterwards they sauntered up to the Lions Pond for cava and to have some pictures taken by the photographer who was a colleague of the groom.

For their reception, they fell in love with Tikitano at first sight and booked it straight away! This was the perfect venue, providing the sea views that were essential for the groom and laid back atmosphere they wanted to create but with excellent food and service.

They chose a simple theme of white and fuchsia to mirror the white villages and bougainvillea commonly seen up and down the coast which the bride incorporated in her bouquet and shoes! The bridesmaids had elegant wrist corsages of lilies on pearl bracelets rather than bouquets which were provided by Andi from AndiFlora.

They wanted to keep the decoration to a minimum as they felt the natural beauty of their surroundings needed no help. They opted for a simple but beautiful cake from Bettina at Cake Creations and entertainment was provided by Andy & Lindsay, then after a midnight feast of mini burgers and hot dogs to keep the guests going, a DJ kept the dance floor full all night.
