The theme of this wedding was the Poppy. This flower reminded the groom of his childhood here in Marbella, because at that time the poppies bloomed widely in the fields particularly around La Virginia, where Robert lived. Sadly the grooms parents´ are both dead and have commemorative plaques within the chapel in La Virginia and this solidified the couples´ feeling that this was the perfect location for their wedding. The minister Kurt Kuttner paid tribute to both parents during the ceremony and ensured their presence was felt on this emotional day. The couple lit a candle to symbolise their union and readings were made by both family and friends.
The entire ceremony was enriched by the musically talented vocalist Amanda Rosa. She learnt a song in German to sing to the couple which she performed perfectly and to much appreciation of the guests. On leaving the chapel after the ceremony the couple walked down the aisle to Ain´t No Mountain High Enough which kicked off the celebrations.
The chapel was beautifully decorated by Michelle of Gorgeous Event Decoration and flowers were provided by Maxine 4Flowers. The day was captured by David Thoms with his usual high energy and gusto!
The ceremony was followed by a Cava reception directly on the plaza in front of the chapel and then the guests were spoilt with delicious little delicacies, served by the lovely staff of the restaurant: La Tienda.
Then it was off with the organized bus transportation to the exclusive Hotel El Oceano, where everything was already prepared for the reception of Robert & Ivanka. The venue was also decorated in the poppy theme with red organza and poppies in the centre pieces and with the whole room overlooking the sea, the view was breathtaking. The couple were delighted with the reaction of their guests who had travelled from Austria and Germany. Even the beautiful wedding cake featured handmade poppies by the very talented Bettina of Cake Creations.
After a short, warm speech by the groom all enjoyed the delicious dinner, accompanied by the house piano player and singer Johnny Baker, and the good vibes spread.
After the fantastic dessert there was a surprise for the happy couple. The best man and chief bridesmaid had made a film of friends and family, some of who could not attend the wedding, with messages, songs and congratulations . The first dance followed and from the very first song from the Duo, Masquerade, the dance floor was filled all night long!
As a grand finale of the evening, we had booked a duo of fire jugglers and fire dancers. This provided a” hot” show, much to the enjoyment of all the wedding guests and the bride and groom.
The happy couple and some of the guests who still had plenty energy were not ready to end the celebrations yet and boarded a shuttle bus from Simply Shuttles for an after party in Vibes.
Here everything was prepared and ready and guests greeted the couple with a sea of sparklers and the female DJ Debbie kept the party going until the wee small hours. A beautiful wedding, with feeling and romance, great atmosphere and super cool guests and families and a very sweet couple. It was our pleasure to be able to plan here and we wish Robert & Ivanka all the best for their future together.
