Beautiful villa – sleeps 20

Beautiful villa – sleeps 20

There are so many great aspects to being a wedding planner and one of them is discovering different venues for weddings. Yesterday we had the pleasure of going to the stunning Villa Bermeja which is nestled in the Acedia valley in Casares providing peace, tranquility and breath taking views. This villa is perfect for both smaller and larger weddings (max 75-100 guests). The lush gardens are large but there are lots of smaller areas so more intimate celebrations will not be dwarfed by the surroundings.

Another plus for couples looking for a villa is that the owner accepts shorter stays of 3 nights which a lot of couples look for. Despite being 15 minutes from the coast, you are still only 25 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Marbella and Puerto Banus 🙂

The villa has been restored and boasts all the essentials you will need as well as 2 heated pools, sauna, gym and large bedrooms and bathrooms.

Changes to requirements for marrying in Gibraltar

Changes to requirements for marrying in Gibraltar

As getting legally married in Spain is only possible if you are a resident or if you marry in the Catholic church, many of our couples opt to do the legalities in Gibraltar. It is easy, quick and we can help you with the paperwork.

From this month however, there is a new requirement for all couples (not resident in Gibraltar) who marry there. Each couple must spend at least one night in Gibraltar, either the night before the wedding or the night of the wedding and they must provide documentary proof of this for the marriage to take place.

If you would like more information this as well as hotels in Gibraltar and good places to eat while you are there, please get in touch and we can help!!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!!! Today is the perfect opportunity to show your special someone how you feel about them. You don’t have to spend lots of money on flowers, chocolates, or dinner. A homemade card with your own words will often mean more than a bag full of gifts.

Many couples get caught up in the small details of their wedding and get incredibly stressed about all sorts of things. Your wedding day IS an important one as it marks the beginning of your lives together with all those you care about and who care about you. Of course you want everything to look beautiful, the food to be delicious and for everyone to have a good time but after 10, 20 or 40 years together what will the lasting memories of your wedding day be? Will it be the canapés, or the colour of your flowers or will it more likely be, how you felt on that day? How excited and happy you were to be married to each other and to begin your lives together?

Our job is to take the stress out of the planning and let you enjoy the day with your family and friends. We are honoured to do this for all our couples as we know how quickly the day will pass and that you need to be present in every moment and let someone else make sure it runs smoothly.

Whether you are engaged, planning to propose today, newly married or have been married for years, I hope you all have a lovely Valentine’s Day and celebrate your love for each other.

And on that note, congratulations to my mum and dad on their their Ruby wedding today!! Now that’s something to celebrate!!

Meringues – alternative to cupcakes?

Meringues – alternative to cupcakes?

We had the pleasure of tasting the most delicious meringues earlier today – I know, it’s a hard job but somebody has to do it!! They were so light and delicious and looked amazing. We tried flavours like rose and pistachio, vanilla with Baileys butter cream, coconut, mojito, chocolate…the list goes on but it’s embarrassing how many I tried!

As many venues now offer a cake in their menu price which looks great for the photos, why not offer your guests something lighter later on in the evening or to add to a candy bar. They come in any colour and flavour combination you can think of and are presented on a tower for the WOW effect.

They also come in a presentation box with ribbon and tag which would make really beautiful favours. For more information please get in touch xx

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas is such a lovely time where people get the chance to spend more time with friends and family after a busy year. I love all the hustle and bustle, busy towns (but not too busy!) decorations, music, food and drink. We went into Malaga last night to see the Christmas lights and they were beautiful as always. The city was busy with families milling around, listening to all the brass bands playing Christmas carols, stopping for something to eat and drink before making their way home again. It really helped put me into the Christmas spirit as sometimes I find it difficult to believe it’s Christmas here as there is no snow and it’s often so warm!

We have had a great year and had the pleasure of working with some fantastic people, couples and colleagues alike. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to lots more weddings in 2014 🙂

With lots of love Jenny & Jeanette xx
